Studio - West Coast

Originally a cult 2006 release on Sweden’s Information label, Studio’s West Coast blended Balearic shimmer, krautrock pulse and post-punk guitar into something effortlessly widescreen. Its long-gestating reputation – fuelled by word-of-mouth, scarce pressings and enthusiastic DJs – finally brings a full remaster on Ghostly International, out 24 January 2025. The new cut lets the chiming arpeggios of “Out There” sparkle, tightens the motorik drums of “Origin (Shake You Down by the River)”, and emphasises the sea-spray reverb that runs through the album. Part sunset soundtrack, part midnight drive companion, West Coast now sounds as fresh and forward-looking as the records it inspired.
